Impeach Bush; Matthew P. Maljevec; Beaver County Times; June 26, 2006.

Last September Mr. Maljevec treated us with a letter entitled the same as this one.  In his most recent letter, Mr. Maljevec asserted, “Rendell is one of the best governors Pennsylvania has ever had.”

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“The slaughter and torture of those two fine young men by the religious fanatics in Iraq made me sick to my stomach.

“Just what is going on with those stupid fanatics who hide behind God, who say that killing in God’s name is justified?  I do not think so.  I was taught that God is a just and compassionate being.”

[RWC] Mr. Maljevec does OK up to this point.  That said, I don’t know if this truly represents his opinion or he felt it was necessary to “legitimize” the following rant.

“More than 2,500 young men and women have been killed and more than 18,000 injured and maimed, some for life.

“This madness must stop now, and the only way this will happen is by removing that little dictator George Bush and his henchmen from office.  We cannot afford to put up with his stupid dictatorial ambitions any longer.”

[RWC] Mr. Maljevec said pretty much the same thing last October, yet we managed to survive.

“We, the people of these United States, must and will take back control of this country of ours, no matter what it takes.  This may sound as though I am advocating the removal of this idiotic government, and I am.  There are a lot of individuals who have the same feeling.  We cannot afford about three more years of Bush’s insane, idiotic and stupid decisions he and his staff initiate each and every day.

“What say you people of these United States?  Don’t you think we have had enough of this administration?  Impeachment is the answer, and it must be done now before we kill and injure more of our young men and women.”

[RWC] I guess Mr. Maljevec missed that little thing we called an election in 2004.  To refresh his memory, the “people of the United States” re-elected President Bush.  Since then, he’s continued the policies of his first administration and has tended to deliver on campaign issues.

Also to refresh Mr. Maljevec’s memory, impeachment requires a criminal act.  Even if I agreed with Mr. Maljevec, “insane, idiotic and stupid decisions” are not criminal acts.

What “high crimes and misdemeanors” did President Bush commit, Mr. Maljevec?
