Vote out union busters; Edward Maritz, Sr.; Beaver County Times; November 21, 2006.

Below is a detailed critique of the letter.

“If the three union-busting Beaver County Commissioners do not know the meaning of binding, then they should be removed from office for being mentally challenged.”

[RWC] It’s now “union busting” when labor union management must compete to get a contract?

“Foremost, they should not be permitted to spend any more taxpayers’ money on reimbursing CiviGenics for the cost of training for the takeover of the jail.

“At best, it was malfeasance of office, and the three commissioners should be held accountable to pay any expenses incurred by CiviGenics.

“Please, Beaver County taxpayers, do not take this from these Mike Veon wannabes or has beens.  Let’s attend the board meetings and demand accountability from these commissioners.  Or are you going to let them throw money away to a company that should not have been retained until after the judge ruled?  What was the hurry?”

[RWC] Let me get this straight.  Mr. Maritz wants taxpayers to oust three guys who were trying to control spending in order to avoid tax increases?  What am I missing?

“Dirty politics, political vendettas, or, dare I say, Veon politics.  Remember these three at election time.  Beaver County, please keep up the good work you started and remove them from office also.”

[RWC] Far be it from me to defend Democrats, but what did the jail deal have to do with “Dirty politics, political vendettas?”
