Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.
“I feel there is a dire need in Pennsylvania for the ‘fresh start’ that Tom Wolf represents.
“We need a governor who will initiate corporate tax reform and create jobs to boost our economy. Tom Wolf has made a commitment to insure that each child will receive a quality education with adequate funding in Pennsylvania’s schools.”
[RWC] “Corporate tax reform” is leftyspeak for increasing taxes collected by businesses; this does not “create jobs to boost our economy.” According to a BCT story, “Pennsylvania ranks 34th-best in business taxes, down three spots from last year’s report.” Do we want to take a crack at 50th place?
How much is “adequate funding in Pennsylvania’s schools?”
“The future governor should provide an extraction tax in the Marcellus shale endeavors.”
[RWC] Why? Even the BCT finally conceded taxing Marcellus gas is “a tax that is paid by consumers” and acknowledged “Raising taxes could slow the economy.”
“Thank you, Tom Wolf, for running for governor. We need his ideas for the future of Pennsylvania.”
[RWC] No, we don’t. Leftist ideology does not work.
