Kelly McLaughlin – 4/16/06

Emulating Bush’s liar strategy; Kelly McLaughlin; Beaver County Times; April 16, 2006.

When we last heard from Ms. McLaughlin, she was telling us not to vote for Lynn Swann because he lacks experience.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“It seems our president has set a wonderful example for his fellow Republicans.”

[RWC] Actually, Mr. Kozlina likely got his idiotic idea from the Democrats during the 2004 Pennsylvania primary.  If you recall, PA Democrats, in cahoots with Sen. Arlen Specter, encouraged Democrats to register as Republicans so they could vote for Specter in order to defeat Pat Toomey.

“Just as the president claimed ‘weapons of mass destruction’ to enter into a war, Republican letter writer Wasso Kozlina Jr feels he can use the same smoke and mirrors to achieve his goal (‘Switch parties,’ Thursday).”

[RWC] How are these scenarios remotely similar?

“He wants to switch to Democrat to vote against Democrats in the primaries, and then vote for the Republicans in the general races.”

[RWC] Ms. McLaughlin is not exactly correct.  Mr. Kozlina only wanted to oppose “greedy” Democrat incumbents.  I assumed he was referring to Democrat payjackers.

“That’s right.  If you can’t win fair and square, just lie like your president did.  It worked for him.”

[RWC] “Your president?”  Is Ms. McLaughlin not a U.S. citizen?

About what did President Bush lie?  Ms. McLaughlin fails to tell us.  If she had, I can bet she would have provided no credible supporting evidence.
