What Jesus didn’t do; Rita Wolicki Muckian; Beaver County Times; June 22, 2005.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“In response to the June 14 letter to the editor from Sue Lukacs (‘Graduates will [sic] make mark’):

“In her letter she used the overused phrase ‘freedom isn’t free.’  She is absolutely correct.  However, let her remember that we fought for ours.  Let other countries fight for theirs.”

[RWC] I guess Ms. Ruckian forgot the Marquis de Lafayette and the 6,000 Frenchmen who joined him to fight with us during the Revolutionary War.

Ms. Ruckian must also not watch the news.  Otherwise she would see Iraqis are fighting and dying for their freedom.

“Also, her views on Jesus’ reactions to these wars are very much different from what I have ever read about our Savior.  He had never engaged in any armed conflict throughout his [sic] life except in one instance when he [sic] took a whip to the men who were using the temple as a place to make money.”

[RWC] Ms. Ruckian must have been hallucinating.  The Lukacs letter never mentioned anything about Jesus’ reaction to war.

“We could sure use him [sic] to take that same action in the White House.”

[RWC] Ever notice how some peaceful anti-war types are so quick to advocate violence?
