There are answers to all the whys; Judy Pamer; Beaver County Times; September 20, 2009.

Several previous letters from Ms. Pamer are here, here, here, and here.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“This is in response to Friday’s letter “A lot of whys but not many answers.”

“President George Bush used the tragedy of 9/11 to play on our fears so he could start an unnecessary war in Iraq.  Barack Obama’s advice to understand the reason could have resulted in halting recruitment for al-Qaida.”

[RWC] Yep, a President of the United States “used the tragedy of 9/11 to play on our fears so he could start an unnecessary war in Iraq.”  To what end?

“Barack Obama’s advice to understand the reason could have resulted in halting recruitment for al-Qaida.”  Seriously?  As a reminder, at that time Mr. Obama was an unknown (at least nationally) Illinois state senator without any responsibility for national security.  Besides, who didn’t/doesn’t “understand the reason?”

“The Iraq war instead proved a breeding ground for terrorists, and it took our troops out of Afghanistan where we might have stopped Osama bin Laden for good.  In addition, the Iraq war cost us billions and landed us in a recession.”

[RWC] More bogus talking points.  For example, the subprime debacle (fueled by lefty programs I’m sure Ms. Pamer supports) “landed us in a recession,” not “the Iraq war.”

Does Ms. Pamer get her talking points from Beaver County Blue?

“The media are still talking about U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson because it is exactly what Wilson wanted.  He took our attention off Obama’s speech and the real issue.  Wilson signing autograph pictures of himself taken when he shouted ‘You lie!’ at the president of the United States shows that his apology was a lie and his remorse is non-existent.”

[RWC] “[I]t is exactly what Wilson wanted?”  To be called a racist by the media and members of Congress?

Mr. Wilson apologized only for a breach of etiquette (where and when), not for what he said.

You’ll note Ms. Pamer didn’t address the comments of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) or Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).

“When Obama campaigned in Beaver, he drew 7,000 people and warranted a front-page story.  The recent tea party only drew a couple hundred, less than a high school football game, and hence The Times’ coverage was appropriate.”

[RWC] I’m glad to know Ms. Pamer knows what event coverage is appropriate.
