We can’t afford to lose Veon; Patricia Pudik; Beaver County Times; April 24, 2006.

When we last heard from Ms. Pudik in October 2004, she was purveying demonstrably wrong Democrat talking points.  Now she wants us to support State Rep. Mike Veon (D-14).

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“I do not live in Mike Veon’s legislative district.  However, I felt it necessary to write this.  I don’t think that very many people are aware of all the things that Mike has done for all of Beaver County, not just his district.  Many are known only to the people who benefited.

“For instance, he has been responsible for grants to help senior centers get the things that the people need to make them more comfortable (i.e., tables, air conditioning, handicapped facilities).

“I have seen Mike be approached at town meetings, senior fairs, rallies, etc. by people of all ages and areas asking him for his help with their problems.  He stands there very patiently and listens.  If he can’t directly help them, he informs them of where to go for help, or he has that agency contact them.

“Do we want to lose him?  Let’s keep our present representatives.”

[RWC] Ah, so it’s not just Mr. Veon.  We’re to keep all local incumbents, who just happen to be all Democrats.  I’m sure that’s simply a coincidence, though. <g>

“Yes, he voted for and accepted a pay raise.  Maybe that wasn’t the right thing to do right now, but what’s to say that that vote wouldn’t come up later.”

[RWC] Huh?

“I feel that people need to look at the big picture and not make this their sole reason for voting against him.”

[RWC] Here is a summary of this letter.  We should support Mr. Veon because he took tax dollars from paychecks and pensions and gave that money to people who didn’t earn it.  As long as Mr. Veon gives other people’s money to programs you support, ignore his continuing and unwavering support of an unconstitutional payjacking.
