Dan Sainovich – 11/12/08

Obama critics have lost their perspective; Dan Sainovich, Jr.; Beaver County Times; November 12, 2008.

I have to admit to a challenge critiquing “Dan Sainovich” letters over time.  The reason is this.  Over the last 3+ years, letters from Industry/Ohioville have been signed Dan; Dan, Jr.; Danny; and Danny, Sr.  It appears there is a minimum of two “Dans” and a maximum of four.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“It is disheartening that such ‘true’ Americans seems to wish failure to President-elect Barack Obama.

“While driving on Thursday, listening to Rush Limbaugh — why I do not know — he was commenting on the inevitable downfall of 401Ks and the stock market.”

[RWC] I always get a kick out of lefties who claim they “do not know” why they listen to Rush Limbaugh.

“He stated that he had predicted and warned of such catastrophes if Obama was elected, and then he actually had the audacity to hope that these markets failed.

“I could not believe it.  I do not care whether your candidate won or lost.  But guess what?  You do not root for a bus to crash if you do not like the driver.”

[RWC] Sorry, I know why I listen to Rush Limbaugh and I never heard him “hope that these markets failed.”  Unless Mr. Limbaugh has his money stuffed in his mattress, hoping our markets would fail would be incredibly stupid.

“Look at the worldwide response of Obama’s win.  Maybe, just maybe, we may get a little more respect and understanding from the rest of the world.”

[RWC] What is it with lefties that they need to feel loved by the rest of the world?  The last I checked, we’re still the ones the rest of the world goes to for help and we still have more immigrants than we can handle.

“And in response to all the gloom-and-doom believers, give Obama a chance.  Democracy works sometimes.”

[RWC] “Democracy works sometimes.”  Translation: Democracy works when I get my way.
