Now it’s up to Marshall; Robert Svihra; Beaver County Times; November 27, 2006.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Dan Donatella and Bill Hammer are right.  For 22 years Mike Veon brought home the state bacon and did a fine job at it, but the voters decided to give the job to Jim Marshall.

“Now it’s his turn to bring home the bacon.  It’s everyone’s job to help him.  Jim Marshall has some big shoes to fill.  Let’s stop whining about what we are supposedly going to lose and help by maintaining a positive attitude and going after what we deserve.”

[RWC] People who think as Mr. Svihra are as big a problem as politicians who use pork to build power.

It is NOT a representative’s responsibility “to bring home the bacon.”  Representatives should fight to allow us to keep what we earn so we can use it as we see fit.  It’s wrong for representatives to “rob Peter to pay Paul.”
