Obama’s critics are too quick to judge; M. C. Winkle; Beaver County Times; November 18, 2008.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“I have never written a letter to the editor before, but some recent letters have made me angry.

“People may not be happy with the choice made for president, but I feel we as a free society should give President-elect Barack Obama a chance.  We already know what we have had.  We don’t know what will happen for the next four years.

“And if we don’t like what he has done, we will have the chance to vote him out of office.  That’s why they have elections every four years.

“I also think it is very ignorant and disrespectful to the flag when the man flew his American flag upside down in protest of Obama’s election.

“Come on, people.  This is the 21st century.”

[RWC] By his/her own words in the first sentence, Winkle concedes he/she never wrote a letter in protest of the ceaseless bashing of President Bush since before he took office.  I get a kick out of these folks who live in glass houses throwing rocks at those who don’t like Mr. Obama.

Don’t get me wrong.  While I believe Mr. Obama should be challenged because his leftist principles, I don’t believe he or anyone should be subject to the name-calling, personal attacks, smears, et cetera endured by President Bush for the past eight years.  I just like pointing out the same people who want proper treatment for Mr. Obama had no problem with the abusive treatment of President Bush.
