Tom Zelinsky – 2/24/06

Sorry does not count; Tom Zelinsky; Beaver County Times; February 24, 2006.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Lynn Swann wants to run for and be our next governor - I don’t think so.

“Not only is he taking a Swann dive, he is going for a nose dive.

“He wants us to vote for him when he missed 20 of 36 elections in the past 18 years.  I guess he thought elections were of no importance then.”

[RWC] I don’t know why Mr. Swann missed the elections, but apparently Mr. Zelinsky does.

“Now, he expects people to come out and vote for him.  I don’t think so.  He had no respect then to vote for his own party.  I am glad the truth is coming out now on his honesty.”

[RWC] What does voting or not voting have to do with honesty?

Missing elections isn’t a good thing, but it wouldn’t be a factor in my decision regardless of the candidate.

“I trust he will be coming out with all kinds of excuses now that he has been burned.”

[RWC] When did missing elections become worse than leaving a woman to drown or being a member of the KKK?

“I don’t think his Steelers days will make a difference in his election.  There are a lot of other good people to vote for I am sure.”

[RWC] Whom does Mr. Zelinsky think he is kidding?  The whole reason he wrote the letter is because he really does believe Mr. Swann’s “Steelers days will make a difference in his election.”

Anyone care to guess the party of the “lot[s] of other good people to vote for?”
