Climate center: 2012 roasts to hottest year on record; Michael Pound; Beaver County Times; January 8, 2013.
Below is a detailed critique of portions of this column.
Rather than address the whole piece, let’s take a look at the final two paragraphs: “Officials at the climate center were less cautious about assigning blame, both for 2012’s results and the warming weather over the last decade. ‘It was off the chart,’ said Deke Arndt, head of climate monitoring at the climate center. Last year will go down as ‘a huge exclamation point at the end of a couple decades of warming.’”
Now, let’s look at an excerpt from my paper entitled “Manmade global warming”: “If the data is legitimate and supports their positions, why would believers risk prosecution to hide the data?
So which is it? Did we have “a couple decades of warming” or “no statistically significant warming since 1995 … [and,] though a trend, … statistically insignificant cooling since 2002” as of 2010? With such divergent comments by manmade global warming believers, would someone tell me why we should believe a word they say?
