Slap shot: The slots decision is made; now save the Penguins; Editorial; Pittsburgh Post-Gazette; December 21, 2006.

Rather than do a point-by-point critique of the editorial, I’ll make only a couple of comments.

As much as I’d like to see the Penguins succeed and remain in Pittsburgh, I oppose using taxpayer dollars in the process.

Whether the business is the Penguins, Pirates, Steelers, PNC Bank, Westinghouse, et cetera, why should taxpayers be forced to subsidize a business?
