Full of gas; Editorial; Beaver County Times; February 16, 2010.
This is the third editorial within a week advocating tax increases (totaling about $1 billion) for Pennsylvanians. The other two were “Recipe for disaster” and “Garbage in.”
This is simply a call for more tax revenue to fuel more government spending. If it weren’t, the editorial would have proposed matching broad-based tax cuts in other areas. Further, if the Times had the courage of its convictions regarding manmade global warming, shouldn’t the Times oppose the extraction of the natural gas regardless of tax revenue? I guess the terrible “crisis” of manmade global warming takes a backseat to more tax revenue to fuel more government spending. Isn’t it fun watching lefties get twisted by their own contradictory positions?
