BCT Editorial – 7/21/10

Ominous sign; Editorial; Beaver County Times; July 21, 2010.

In case you missed it, the Times is on another control-freak crusade.  This is the third obesity editorial in less than two weeks, at least the 10th this year, and at least the 45th since 2005.

There’s nothing new in this editorial so please read my critiques of “Doomed to fail” and “Licking salt.”  In summary, the editorial is another in a series laying the foundation for the government to control our lives even more.  When it comes to a government-run healthcare monopoly, cost control will be the excuse used to control our decisions.  We’ve already seen that in the ridiculous tobacco taxes (No, I don’t smoke, chew, etc.) and the proposed taxes on sugar-containing drinks.
