Mildred Czar – 10/20/10

Letter on Obama critics on the mark; Mildred Czar; Beaver County Times; October 20, 2010.

Previous letters from Ms. Czar were entitled “Support and pray for our president,” “Tax hike can be justified” (11/7/06, lobbied for a tax increase if it would keep Beaver County from privatizing its jail operations), and “Homosexuality is a sin in God’s eye” (4/17/09, self-descriptive).  I didn’t critique either of the last two letters and neither remains on the Times website.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“I agree with the writer of Wednesday’s letter to the editor ‘Don’t overlook spendthrift ways.’

“Rather than being criticized, President Barack Obama and his staff should be commended for tackling the major problems our nation faces.  These problems have slowly increased over the last 20 years, and the critics know that.”

[RWC] Our problems have slowly increased since Presidents Hoover and Roosevelt ramped up leftist policies in the 1930s.  Mr. Obama’s approach is to use more of the same failed leftist policies that got us here.

“If you have not read Wednesday’s letter, I would recommend that you take time and read it because it clearly describes the political factors involved.

“Let’s unify and support our government.  Go and vote your preference.”

[RWC] Just as I do with all elected officials, I’ll support Mr. Obama when we agree on policy and oppose him when we don’t.
