Look at Bush record; Jim Ferruchie; Beaver County Times; August 30, 2006.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“This is in response to the highly appalling ‘Democrats hate democracy’ rant by Paul Dici on Friday:”

[RWC] Mr. Dici is getting what he deserves.  Of course, Mr. Ferruchie also sets himself up for ridicule because he went on a ridiculous rant of his own.

“Jimmy Carter ‘the worst president in our history?’  He is certainly entitled to his own opinion, but I beg to differ: Katrina, Iraq, yellow cake, aluminum tubes, WMD, record budget deficits, 45 million uninsured Americans, Dubai ports, $3 gasoline prices, record profits for big oil companies, six straight years of poverty level increases, six years of increases in the number of working poor, record increases in pharmaceutical drug prices, a nearly undecipherable Medicaid Part D, bin Laden not found, attempted cuts in military combat and separation pays, ignoring the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, port and boarder [sic] security still lacking.”

[RWC] This is just a list of BS talking points with no details.  At least Mr. Ferruchie didn’t try to tell us Jimmy Carter was a good president.

“Need I go on?”

[RWC] Yes, you left out a bunch of talking points.

“In my opinion, George W. Bush is not only the worst president in history, he is arguably the worst head of state the world has ever known.”

[RWC] Ah, so President Bush is worse than Hitler, Mao, Stalin, et cetera.  And Mr. Ferruchie referred to Mr. Dici’s letter as a “highly appalling … rant?”

“Dici’s ‘Democrats hate democracy, but love dictators’ diatribe is disgraceful.  He has insulted every American family, both Democrat and Republican, whose loved ones have fought and died in wars against dictators.  At the very least, we owe them our gratitude, and he owes them an apology.

[RWC] Nice try, Mr. Ferruchie, but when it comes to national security, there are no similarities between WWII Democrats and today’s Democrat leadership.  Today’s Democrat leadership is not your father’s Democrat leadership.

You’ll note Mr. Ferruchie didn’t address the Democrat love affair with Castro and Chavez mentioned by Mr. Dici.

“If U.S. Rep. Melissa Hart chooses to run on her ‘spotless record,’ whereby she’s voted with Bush 96 percent of the time, she is in big trouble.  Ninety-six percent makes her an official rubber stamp for the Bush administration.”

[RWC] Mr. Ferruchie needs to get his talking points straight.  According to the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee, Rep. Hart voted with the GOP caucus 96% of the time, not President Bush.  Rep. Hart voted with President Bush only 93% of the time. <g>

I love the “rubber stamp” criticism when a Republican tends to vote for proposals put forth by a Republican president or other Republicans.  Is it rubber-stamping when a Democrat supports Democrat presidents and other Democrats?

“That’s why the 4th Congressional District will be showing her the door in November.  Jason Altmire will give the residents more than a ‘spotless’ pro-Bush voting record.  He’ll actually represent our interests, not the interests of multinational corporations and George W. Bush.”

[RWC] You’ll note Mr. Ferruchie didn’t tell us what “our interests” are.
