Paul Dici – 8/25/06

Democrats hate democracy; Paul Dici; Beaver County Times; August 25, 2006.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Federal Judge Anna Diggs Taylor is a left-wing radical who sided with the enemies of our country many times in the past.

“She was appointed by the worst president in our history, Jimmy Carter.  Remember the misery index?  Remember the Iranian hostage situation that lasted well over a year?  Remember the long gas lines?

“They were all part of Carter’s pathetic administration.

“Taylor’s flawed ruling will be overturned by any one of a thousand clear-thinking judges.

“For some reason, Democrats hate democracy, but love dictators like Chavez and Castro and the butchers in the Arab world.

“If the Democrats get power again, go shopping for a turban because they will come after us while Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and Harry Reed are talking to the French about how to handle the terrorist problem.

“According to The Times, this area is losing thousands of people every year, especially our youngest and brightest, while Democrats do little more than give themselves raises and fly around the state charging us for the tickets.

“U.S. Rep. Melissa Hart has a spotless record, which, I am sure, angers some of you.  Maybe you would like her better is she gave herself a raise in a middle-of-the-night pay grab.”

[RWC] This is the second time within a week I’ve had to take an apparent non-liberal to task for employing letter writing tactics usually associated with misguided liberals.  As I wrote about Paul Kahr, he “could have written a well-considered letter criticizing Judge Taylor’s ruling, but instead he took the road well traveled by most of his opposition; that is, ranting and name-calling.”  Of course, Mr. Dici also went on to rant about Jimmy Carter and Democrats in general.  There are nuggets of truth within the rant, but they are hidden by Mr. Dici’s vitriol.

This is also the second time I’ve taken Mr. Dici to task for the equivalent of throwing rocks.  Here’s a link to the first letter from January.

Here’s a reminder to conservative writers.  99.9% of the time the facts and truth are on your side.  When you get into name-calling and rants, you’re displaying laziness and killing your credibility.  Liberals generally have no choice but to employ these tactics because the facts don’t support their positions 99.9% of the time.  You have a choice.
