Keep the government out of bathroom debate; Thomas Hughes; Beaver County Times; May 25, 2016.

If you’re not familiar with Mr. Hughes, he’s a flamethrower.  In a 2015 letter-to-the-editor, Mr. Hughes said he was 60 years old.  Previous Hughes letters I reviewed are here, here, and here.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“This subject of who uses what bathroom has gotten way out of hand.”

[RWC] Rather than repeat myself, most of my comments on this topic can be found in my review of “Transgender people are not pedophiles.”

“First off, it’s not a government issue.  As far as I’m concerned, you can call yourself anything you want.  You want to be a monkey?  Be one.”

[RWC] I agree.

“Going to the bathroom has nothing to do with sex.  If you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go.  I’m sure molesting someone is not on you [sic] mind.

“I don’t understand why men want to be women or why women want to be men.  What I do know, is when I have to go, I don’t care who’s in there with me or who’s watching.  I’m there for one reason.  Just keep the government out of it.”

[RWC] I wonder what the females in Mr. Hughes’ life think.
