Hillary is more qualified than any Republican; Cindi Kincaid; Beaver County Times; December 21, 2015.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“I take umbrage with the recent letter slamming Hillary Clinton.  People need to quit watching Fox News and listening to Rush Limbaugh and try watching something more moderate like MSNBC.”

[RWC] This letter appears to be what Ms. Kincaid would like the facts to be instead of what they are.  You’ll see what I mean.  I wonder if Ms. Kincaid ever watched FNC or listened to Rush Limbaugh.  Rather than actually listen to or watch FNC, Rush Limbaugh, and other non-leftist sources, folks like Ms. Kincaid tend to rely on lefty websites to tell them what non-leftists say.

Is MSNBC still operating? <g>  MSNBC is so bad, FNC – and even CNN – can’t see them in their rearview mirrors.  I must admit I don’t recall seeing someone use “moderate” and “MSNBC” in the same sentence before.  This could tell us more about Ms. Kincaid than MSNBC.  If MSNBC is Ms. Kincaid’s news source, it would explain why every claim she makes below is false.

Jeff Greenfield and Joe Klein are lefty journalists who chatted in front of a lefty audience in New York City (4/27/14 @ 92nd St. Y).  Watch the video for their incredible opinion regarding where to get a “straight newscast” on TV and note the audience’s reaction.  Below is a transcript of the exchange.  Warning: If you suffer from FNC derangement syndrome, you may want to skip ahead to avoid brain damage. <g>

Joe Klein: “It is such an embarrassment to our profession that CNN has gone in the toilet the way it has. It really is … I’m …  You know, I miss being able to turn on a straight newscast, and it turns out the only place you can go to get one at 6:00 at night is Fox.

Jeff Greenfield: “That’s right.  Yes.”

Joe Klein: “It’s true.”

[The audience mumbles and groans in disapproval.]

Jeff Greenfield: “Don’t, don’t mumble, folks, he’s telling you truth. ‘Special Report’ by Bret Baier is…”

Joe Klein: “The other choice is to go to MSNBC and see the Rev. Al Sharpton, who I still consider to be a major criminal.”  [Mr. Klein was referring to Mr. Sharpton’s role in the Tawana Brawley rape hoax.]

“Clinton withstood 11 hours of grilling by the Benghazi congressional committee.  They couldn’t lay a glove on her.  Network TV isn’t even discussing Benghazi anymore because the committee couldn’t find any wrongdoing on her part.  The request for additional security to U.S. consulates was denied by a Republican Congress, not Clinton.  What does it matter what motive she ascribed to the attacks?  The cause is unimportant; it only matters that four Americans died at the hands of extremists.”

[RWC] During Mrs. Clinton’s time as SoS, both houses of Congress had Democrat majorities during 2009-2010 but was split during 2011-2014.  Republicans were not the majority party in both houses until January 2015, 23 months AFTER Mrs. Clinton left office and more than two years after the Benghazi incident.

In any case, according to The Washington Post, “The State Department acknowledged Wednesday [10/10/12] that it rejected appeals for more security at its diplomatic posts in Libya in the months before a fatal terrorist attack in Benghazi.”

As for “What does it matter …,” it’s Ms. Kincaid’s version of Mrs. Clinton’s “With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans.  Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans?  What difference at this point does it make?”  As we know, the attack had nothing to do with a peaceful protest gone awry, “guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans, or an irrelevant Internet video;” it was a planned attack.

It was wrong to claim the attack was a peaceful demonstration gone awry during the early hours of the attack.  Before the attack was over, however, that story became a lie when everyone in a position to know came to learn the attack was a well-planned terrorist attack, likely by an al-Qaeda affiliate.  This is how every segment of the intelligence community has testified before Congress.  As for the reason the Obama administration – including Mrs. Clinton – lied about the cause, please read previous critiques here and here.

“As for her emails, none were found to be classified, as the FBI ascertained.  This was not a big story in the mainstream media.  No media are focused on the Democrats these days because it’s Trump, Trump, Trump all the time on every channel, right wing or left wing.  Clinton’s use of private email server was not a violation of any law, despite what right-wing media are saying.  Colin Powell used a private server when he served in the Bush administration, but you never hear that in the media.  Clinton turned over every email to the FBI; the media are silent about that.”

[RWC] As far as I can tell, the FBI has not said anything yet about the emails.  In general, law enforcement doesn’t release info like this until an investigation concludes.  All I’ve seen are pieces saying “anonymous sources” said there were a few “secret” and “top secret” emails found.  That said, I’ll wait until the lead FBI investigator or the FBI director speaks.

As for “Clinton turned over every email to the FBI,” I’m sure that’s what Mrs. Clinton wants people to believe, but at this point there’s no way to confirm the claim.

Here’s a portion of what I wrote back in August:

“The problem is judgment.

“For argument’s sake, let’s assume Mrs. Clinton believes she’s telling the truth about everything.  We read about computer breaches/hacks on a routine basis.  It’s no secret the US SoS is one of the prime targets of state-sponsored foreign hackers and spies, and run-of-the-mill e-mail systems are easy for spies and professional hackers to breach.  As noted previously, the server was housed at the Clinton house for the duration of her time in office, not a secured data center.  From what I’ve read so far, it looks like an IT guy from Mrs. Clinton’s 2008 campaign set up the server.  I don’t know who handled the server’s “care and feeding” on a day-to-day basis.  Mrs. Clinton’s comment the server was on property (her house) guarded by the Secret Service means nothing.  A hacker/spy doesn’t need to be anywhere near an e-mail server to hack it.

“Mrs. Clinton said she neither sent nor received classified e-mail via her personal e-mail account.  Even if it turned out to be true, it’s not an assertion Mrs. Clinton could honestly have made back in 2009 for at least two reasons.  First, Mrs. Clinton couldn’t control what other people sent her.  Second, Mrs. Clinton would have no idea which unclassified messages she read or sent would later become classified.  We also need to remember info that may not reach the “classified” level can still be very valuable to our enemies.  Finally, Mrs. Clinton was not the only person with an account on her server.  Everything I just wrote about Mrs. Clinton sending/receiving classified e-mail also applies to all of the other users of her e-mail server. …

“In nontechnical terms, what Mrs. Clinton did was like going from having her mail delivered by armored car to a safe deposit box, to having her mail delivered by the USPS to her roadside mailbox.  That could be a slight exaggeration, but not by much if the feds are doing their job.”

“Clinton served this country admirably during her time in both the Senate and as Secretary of State.  She is not qualified for the ‘big house,’ but is extremely qualified -- more than any Republican -- for the White House.”

[RWC] You probably noticed Ms. Kincaid didn’t tell us how “Clinton served this country admirably during her time in both the Senate and as Secretary of State.”  Ms. Kincaid spent the whole letter trying to defend Mrs. Clinton’s actions regarding Benghazi and her private e-mail server.  I addressed this in my critique of “Hillary’s accomplishments speak for themselves.”
