You can’t be informed by watching one channel; Cindi Kincaid; Beaver County Times; September 15, 2016.
The only previous Kincaid (CK) letter I reviewed was “Hillary is more qualified than any Republican.”
Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.
“I’m retired, so every day I read five daily newspapers, five daily synopses delivered to my iPhone and watch political shows on MSNBC from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. I live and breathe politics. I’m an informed voter and I am not, by far, a single-issue voter.
“Fox News promotes no one but Republicans, and will admit it. It is very anti-Democrat and will admit it. Every day, dozens of lies about Hillary Clinton and other Democrats spew forth on the channel.”
[RWC] Lefty journalist Joe Klein speaking to a lefty audience once said, “You know, I miss being able to turn on a straight newscast, and it turns out the only place you can go to get one at 6:00 at night is Fox.” All so-called news channels have a mix of news shows and opinion shows.
Since FNC isn’t on CK’s list of her info sources, where did she her info about FNC? I’ve found some lefties who complain about FNC, Rush Limbaugh, and so on don’t actually listen to these outlets. Instead, they get leftist-filtered versions from places like the lefty MediaMatters.org.
In her letter entitled “Hillary is more qualified than any Republican,” CK wrote, “People need to quit watching Fox News and listening to Rush Limbaugh and try watching something more moderate like MSNBC.” Referring to MSNBC as “more moderate” tells us more about CK than about MSNBC.
“In regard to a recent letter from Sandra Kolavic, there is no proof that Clinton lied to Congress, and James Comey of the FBI said that he had no evidence of her lying to the FBI.”
[RWC] CK must have selective hearing. CK heard FBI Director James Comey testify “he had no evidence of her lying to the FBI” but missed his testimony indicating Hillary Clinton (HRC) lied to Congress. You can find the details here.
“Both Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice used private email servers and neither one of them saved their emails. Madeleine Albright confirmed the server conversation; Powell back-pedaled because he’s a ‘good party man’ and wouldn’t say anything to help a Democrat, let alone one running for president.
[RWC] HRC and supporters like CK are trying the “but they did it” excuse. CK implies Mr. Powell (CP) and Miss Rice (CR) kept personal email servers as HRC did. That is not true. Operating your own personal email server is not the same as using a personal email account. As for “neither one of them saved their [personal account] emails,” that appears to be true.
According to a State Department Inspector General (OIG) report, CP used a personal email account for personal and non-classified business use, but he didn’t have a personal email server like HRC. The New York Times (not Fox News) reported, “A State Department inspector general report released in May said that Mr. Powell and other senior officials had used personal email accounts for official business, but that by the time Mrs. Clinton took office, the rules were clear that using a private server in such a manner was neither allowed nor encouraged because of ‘significant security risks.’” Even MSNBC reported on the OIG findings, though it may not have been “from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.”
Regarding CR, the OIG report said, “Secretary Rice and her representative advised the Department and OIG that the Secretary did not use either personal or Department email accounts for official business. OIG searched selected records and did not find any evidence to indicate that the Secretary used such accounts during her tenure.”
I haven’t seen it discussed anywhere, but for some government officials you could make a case their “personal” email should be treated the same as their official-business email. Even if there’s nothing classified or business-related in personal email, its contents can still be very valuable to our enemies.
Though the alleged “server conversation” took place at a dinner party hosted by Madeleine Albright at her home, I found nothing to indicate “Madeleine Albright confirmed the server conversation.” A CP spokeswoman said, “General Powell has no recollection of the dinner conversation. He did write former Secretary Clinton an email memo describing his use of his personal AOL email account for unclassified messages and how it vastly improved communications within the State Department.” Whether the “conversation” was a real face-to-face conversation, or an email from CP telling HRC what he did, all reports I’ve seen indicate the discussion was about using a personal account, not a personal server.
“Powell back-pedaled because he’s a ‘good party man’ and wouldn’t say anything to help a Democrat, let alone one running for president?” CP endorsed and said he voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections. I don’t know what CP “back-pedaled” about.
“Maybe if Kolavic watched something other than Fox News and read other publications she could open her mind to the truth, which will never be told by Fox or come from the mouth of Donald Trump and his surrogates.”
[RWC] Read the Kolavic letter and you find she didn’t mention FNC at all.
