Republican representatives running from constituents; Stephen F. “The Onion” Kislock, III (SFK); Beaver County Times; February 28, 2017.

Most of SFK’s 80+ letters over the last 11 years have been Republican-bashing exercises, though he sometimes goes after Democrats for his pet causes.  Sometime during 2009 Mr. Kislock became an in-house commentator for Beaver County Reds, though it’s been some time since he’s written there.  Please follow this link to learn more about Beaver County Reds.  You may also remember SFK appears to believe “The Onion” is a real news source.  SFK went on hiatus between June 2013 and July 2014.  The last SFK letter I reviewed was entitled “Trump owes victory to his friend Putin.”

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“The Tea Party, a creation of the Charles Koch and his like-minded Republican millionaires, spent $750 million dollars to take over the government with dark money.”

[RWC] “The Tea Party … spent $750 million dollars?”  Seriously?  As far as I can tell, PACs with “Tea Party” in their name contributed about $3.6 million during the 2016 cycle.  That said, there could be “tea party” PACs without “tea party” in their name.

There is no “tea party” as SFK envisions a political party.  The “Tea Party” is more like a movement.

The Koch (pronounced “coke”) brothers are boogeymen to the left because they are wealthy and make their ideological/political contributions primarily to conservative and libertarian candidates and causes.  You’ll note lefties never mention their own billionaire contributors like George Soros and Tom Steyer.

For leftists, “one-percenter” really means “non-lefty one-percenter.”  That’s why we never hear leftists complain in public about lefty one-percenters like the Clintons, the Obamas, George Soros (Wall Street hedge-fund manager), Tom Steyer (Wall Street hedge-fund manager), and the Manns/Warrens.  Yes, yes, I know; the Clintons and Obamas aren’t lefties. <g>

Seven years ago, SFK wrote of “the Fox News-created Tea Party.”  Now, SFK thinks the tea party is “a creation of the Charles Koch …”

As for “dark money,” SFK knows his guys also have “dark money” spenders.

“The Tea Party, sent obstructions [sic] to the halls of Congress and the government has not been the same since, and not for the good.”

[RWC] By “obstructions [sic],” SFK apparently means Republicans who did not vote for lefty programs.  Tea Party or not, why would Republicans vote for lefty initiatives?

When the Dems try to block Republican initiatives, will SFK call it “obstructions [sic]?”

“Today, the 3-million-plus Americans who did not vote for Donald Trump are the new party in America.  With no dark money from Koch and friends.”

[RWC] SFK appears confused.  Mrs. Clinton (HRC) received about three million more votes than Donald Trump (DT), but DT won where it counts, the Electoral College.  About 66 million voters did not vote for DT and about 63 million voters did not vote for HRC.

“The Affordable Care Act -- Obamacare -- has saved thousand [sic] of American lives.”

[RWC] Where’s the data supporting SFK’s claim?

“The Republican/Tea Party members of Congress have had many years to have their plan ready for a roll out on Jan. 21, 2017.  Sorry Americans, we have no health care plan for you.  Go lie in the corner and suffer silent.”

[RWC] I could be wrong, but I don’t recall SFK bashing Democrats when it took them over two years after President Obama’s 2009 inauguration to get Obamacare enacted.

As for “we have no health care plan for you,” it is not the feds’ responsibility to provide medical care.

“Meet your constituents, and if you cannot stand the heat, get out of the kitchen -- resign.”

[RWC] SFK appears to be referring to “town hall” meetings scheduled by lefty organizations.  The idea is to ambush the rep/sen with an opposition mob.  For example, one of these faux “town halls” was “Hosted by SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania.”

For the reps/sens, it’s a no-win situation.  If you don’t attend, you’re afraid to face your constituents and the mob conducts an “empty chair” meeting anyway.  If you attend, the mob tries to embarrass you.  While some people can handle this kind of situation, I suspect most normal people and politicians can’t.  This tactic is what someone does when they don’t want a real discussion.
