Thomas Loxley – 6/2/17

Chaos is invariably a harbinger of destruction; Thomas Loxley; Beaver County Times; June 2, 2017.

Previous Thomas Loxley (TL) letters I reviewed were “Don’t be misled; global warming is real,” “Immigration and defense polices are contradictory,” “Putin plans to destroy America from within,” “Can Americans accept the challenge of democracy,” “Will GOP overreach destroy the party,” “Election interference demands a runoff” and “Cracker plant will turn Beaver into Stinkville.”

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Chaos is a five-letter word of great significance.  Doctors and philosophers call it a killer.  It signifies an individual, group or society where the pace and complexity of everyday life surpasses their practical understanding and control.

“Crooks and tyrants thrive on the confusion and distractions created.  While one exploits the ability to hide profiteering failings in a product or service, the other exploits the hunger for easy answers offered by strong men seeking unbridled power.  Both love the endless supply of suckers that chaos can provide, and both foolishly think that they can control the situation so it perpetually serves their vanity.

“Vladimir Putin tasked the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies with exploring ways of influencing our recent presidential election.  He disliked Hillary Clinton and saw Donald Trump as someone who might be manipulated to his advantage.  The institute’s detailed analysis explored all of the means and personalities Russian might employ, as well as all of the strategic vulnerabilities of modern America.”

[RWC] As Vladimir Putin (VP) “manipulated” then-President Obama (BHO)?  According to a 2012 Reuters piece,

“As he was leaning toward Medvedev in Seoul, Obama was overheard asking for time - ‘particularly with missile defense’ - until he is in a better position politically to resolve such issues.

“‘I understand your message about space,’ replied Medvedev, who will hand over the presidency to Putin in May.

“‘This is my last election ... After my election I have more flexibility,’ Obama said, expressing confidence that he would win a second term.

“‘I will transmit this information to Vladimir,’ said Medvedev, Putin’s protégé and long considered number two in Moscow’s power structure.”

I found no TL letters about this incident.

“The objective wasn’t just to get Trump elected.  The Russians also sought to exploit the weaknesses in our society so as to undermine any cohesive democracy, our fundamental economic stability and our leadership in the free world.  In short, they wanted us to be fighting in the streets, fearful for our very survival.”

[RWC] So, what’s new?  The demise of the U.S. has been Russia’s/USSR’s goal since WWII.

As I noted in my reviews of previous TL letters, U.S. lefties have loved the Russkies since long before I was born.  Heck, U.S. lefties were “anti-war” before WWII until Hitler broke his non-aggression deal with Stalin and attacked the USSR.  Today’s lefties routinely claim “Russia won the war in WWII.”

During a CNN interview in the 2012 campaign, Mitt Romney (MR) stated, “Russia this is without question our number one geopolitical foe.”  Lefties immediately ridiculed MR as “totally out of touch” and possibly a member of “a small group of Cold War holdovers.”

During the third Obama/Romney debate, BHO said:

“Governor Romney, I’m glad that you recognize that al-Qaida’s a threat because a few months ago when you were asked, what’s the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said Russia — not al-Qaida, you said Russia.  And the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.

“But, Governor, when it comes to our foreign policy, you seem to want to import the foreign policies of the 1980s, just like the social policies of the 1950s and the economic policies of the 1920s.  You say that you’re not interested in duplicating what happened in Iraq, but just a few weeks ago you said you think we should have more troops in Iraq right now.”

Why are lefties now throwing their buddy under the bus?  What happened?

“Now, when rich politicians brazenly beat up reporters and Trump openly praises the world’s tyrants, who can know what civil strife may lie ahead?”

[RWC] Blah, blah, blah.
