Trump tapped into river of resentment; Guy R. Miklos; Beaver County Times; May 11, 2016.

This is not a review of the subject letter.  It’s my way to get around the BCT’s faulty profanity detector.  When I attempted to respond to a comment by Carl Davidson (KD), the BCT profanity detector blocked my post.  The error message reads “Your comment cannot be accepted due to the presence of profanity.  Please remove any objectionable content from your comment and try again.”  The message doesn’t identify the alleged occurrences of profanity or how many exist.

I encountered no problems with earlier posts in the thread and you’ll see there is no profanity in this posting either.

The BCT “profanity” detector is wound a tad too tight.  The first time (November 2014) it got me I had to change “damn” in an FDR quote to “darn.”  The second (July 2015) was similar.  This time I had two comments (this and McChesney letter) flagged in two different threads within a few days.  Of the words I thought might be misidentified as profanity, I found most of them in other published comments.  Of the remainder, fixing them didn’t help.  Unfortunately, though, if there are multiple “offenders,” there’s no way to know if you fixed one because the ones that remain still trigger the detector.  It’s like trying to find the burned out bulb(s) in a serial string of Christmas tree lights.  At this point I don’t have a clue what the alleged profanity/profanities may be.

I sent the BCT an e-mail note to support@timesonline.com about this and left a voice mail message with no responses so far.  That’s the reason for this workaround.

Below is the KD comment and my response.  You can find the complete thread here.

“You’re right, Mr. Cox, I’m a lifelong opponent white supremacy and the privileges it likes to confer on those with paler skin and European ancestry. I don’t think those undue advantages serve the class interest of any worker one bit, and in fact hold them down, which was why they were created in the first place. Biology only knows one race, the human. The ‘white race’ and it subalterns are social constructs invented by the master classes in the New World for the purpose of social control at our expense. That’s why I call them out when I see them. Someday we will be rid of them altogether. And you’re also right that we do well to oppose male supremacy and any other forms of undue advantage. In the end, these things only serve those who would keep us subordinate. As for HRC. I’m not a big fan. She has one key advantage in my view, ie, she’s not Donald Trump and she rejects a number of his key policies, like rounding up, detaining and deporting 12 million people,”

Below is my response flagged for profanity.

Mr. Davidson, I’m glad you came to learn “Biology only knows one race, the human.”  I learned that from my parents when I was a kid and it was taught in grade school.  Since you’re a leftist, you should probably stay away from writing ill about “social constructs invented by the master classes in the New World for the purpose of social control at our expense.”  “Social control at our expense” is the goal of the leftisms.  The further left, the greater the “social control.”  Leftist “social constructs” – aka divide and conquer - divide us into classes and grievance/victim groups along lines of age, education, ethnicity, income, religion, sex, skin color, wealth, et cetera and promise each group some kind of special treatment.  The “social control” comes from promising group-specific special treatment (goodies, privileges, etc.) in return for fealty.

As for “That’s why I call them out when I see them,” your 50+ years old body-of-work shows you attribute any opposition to leftist ideology to whatever “isms” you think will cause the most agitation.

It appears you want readers to think I wrote things I did not.  First, I did not write you were “a lifelong opponent white supremacy and the privileges …”  I don’t have the necessary info to make that call either way.  I wrote “your go-to response is racism, ‘white privilege,’ ‘white supremacy,’ or similar language of the moment.”  If I was unclear, I meant your kneejerk reaction to any non-leftist action, policy, etc. is to claim it’s the result of one or more of your go-to “isms.”

Second, I didn’t write “that we do well to oppose male supremacy and any other forms of undue advantage.”  I wrote “I expect ageism and sexism to be added,” meaning I expect lefties to add these to their quiver of “isms” to suppress debate.  The definitions of political terms like “male supremacy” and “undue advantage” tend to vary with the user and the situation.  Who gets to define “undue advantage?”

By the way, have you decided if you’ll stop telling your fairy tale about the LTV/J&L Aliquippa Works and issue corrections and/or retractions?
