Obama has earned our lack of respect; Dan Reeping; Beaver County Times; January 13, 2010.
Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.
“First, Obama wins the Pulitzer Prize, and now the Rodney Dangerfield award for ‘I get no respect.’
“When Bush 1 was declared a liar for his ‘read my lips, no new taxes’ statement, our citizens were shocked, the media screamed, ‘Extra, extra, the president lied,’ and the Democrats used the lie for years in their political speeches.
“But now we have President Obama who seems to lie every time he moves his lips, and the citizens merely shrug their shoulders, the media yawn and Democratic congressmen whisper that at least his lies don't match Clinton’s ‘I did not have sex with that woman.’
“But with this frigid winter, most of the citizens are huddled around their fireplaces burning the pages from the speeches containing the lies ex-Vice President Gore gave about global warming.
“Obama, he gets no respect. He desires none and that’s no lie.”
[RWC] I suspect Mr. Reeping meant “deserves none” instead of “desires none,” but who knows?
In any case, this is just another rant from Mr. Reeping that will accomplish nothing except to generate a bunch of similar name-calling exercises from lefties. Previous Reeping rants I critiqued are here, here, and here.
