We need national health care; Bob Schmetzer; Beaver County Times; June 20, 2007.

Usually, Mr. Schmetzer’s letters are little more than broken records bashing Republicans.  This is one of the few exceptions.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Under the National Health Care Insurance Act, Medicare would be extended and improved so that all individuals residing in the United States would receive high quality and affordable health-care services.

“They would receive all medically necessary services by the physicians of their choice, with no restrictions on what providers they could visit.  The act would cover primary care, dental, mental health, prescription drugs and long-term care.

“First-world countries have national health care.  Where does that leave us?”

[RWC] This is at least the second time someone has mentioned the “United States National Health Insurance Act (or the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act)” since March.  I don’t want to repeat myself, so please read my critique of “Universal care is possible” for my comments.

Also, please read my paper on healthcare.

Can anyone explain to me why some people are so eager to turn their healthcare over to the government?
