We must address safety of drilling, too; John M. Tomaszewski; Beaver County Times; May 7, 2010.

Since September 2004, this is at least the 51st letter from Mr. Tomaszewski with all but a handful spouting leftist talking points, with most bashing Republicans and/or former President Bush.  A recent letter was entitled “If this be socialism, then give me more” and another advocated raising taxes.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“The nation has tough and difficult problems - two wars in Asia, terrorism, illegal immigration, especially in our Mexican border states, financial institutions declaring bankruptcy, the huge national debt, to name some of them.

“As the nation operates overwhelmingly on a coal-and-oil economy, we must also address the safety problems in underground coal mining and in offshore oil wells.  The president and Congress have their work cut out for them.”

[RWC] Does Mr. Tomaszewski believe “underground coal mining and … offshore oil wells” aren’t already heavily regulated?
