‘Impeach the president’; Carol Tritinger; Beaver County Times; June 27, 2007.

The last time I critiqued a letter from Ms. Tritinger, she was complaining about how much was spent on inauguration ceremonies and parties.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“How much more are the American people going to take of our boys, girls, men and women getting killed for Bush and his own war?

“We the American people had better wake up. We need to impeach Bush and all the money-hungry politicians who are making money on our people dying in his war.”

[RWC] Does Ms. Tritinger realize crimes are required for impeachment, not simply a difference of opinion?

By the way, this is not “his war.” Though only a very few of us put ourselves in harm’s way, this is OUR war.

“More and more are dying, so I don’t think Bush’s way is working.”

[RWC] Whether you’re winning or losing, “more and more are dying” until any war ends. Using Ms. Tritinger’s logic, Presidents Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Truman, JFK, and LBJ should have been impeached.

“I thank God every day that my son came home safe and sound.”

[RWC] So do all of us.

I have to wonder if Ms. Tritinger’s son shares her opinions on this subject. After all, if you believe what Ms. Tritinger believes, why would you volunteer?
