The editorial subtitle is “President Obama alone cannot resolve problems the nation is facing.”

This is the second editorial in 10 days entitled “Reality check.”

Rather than address the bunk in this editorial, I’ll point out what I believe is more important, two trends.

If you’ve been paying attention, since we elected Mr. Obama, Times editorials have reversed positions taken during the Bush administration. “Last resort,” “Limited options,” and “Tough sell” are three examples.

We’re also getting editorials telling us to adjust our expectations. This editorial and “Reality check #1” are just the beginning. Funny how we didn’t get similar warnings during the campaign, isn’t it?

I suspect we’ll see more of the same. After all, the whole point of editorials like these – both now and in the future – is to make Mr. Obama look good (or escape blame) regardless of how things go.
