BCT Editorial – 4/11/10

Two-way street; Editorial; Beaver County Times; April 11, 2010.

Everything is this editorial has been covered by previous editorials.

“Road block” of a few days ago covered “the loss of the $472 million in potential tolls from I-80.”

About the only thing “new” in this editorial was that it didn’t engage in name-calling.  Among previous editorials on this topic were those entitled “Freeloaders,” “Leeches,” “Welfare leeches,” and “Welfare queens” [7/7/09 (No critique - I was on vacation - and no longer on the Times website), 5/21/08, and 8/14/07].

Here’s a radical – and probably “mean-spirited” – idea.  Whether we live in urban, suburban, or rural areas, why don’t we all just pay our own way for education, law enforcement, transportation, et cetera?  Nothing good comes from trying to pick another taxpayer’s pocket.
