Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Why does our government constantly threaten that there will not be enough money to fund Social Security, but they never say that about welfare checks?”

[RWC] This is Ms. Caldarelli’s second letter complaining about welfare. Her first is here. What’s odd is, based on previous letters (Here’s an example.), I believe Ms. Caldarelli believes in socialized healthcare. Maybe it’s just me, but opposing welfare while supporting a taxpayer-funded, government-run healthcare system is a tad inconsistent.
