Lonzie Cox, Jr. – 8/19/12

We could use Veon now; Lonzie Cox, Jr.; Beaver County Times; August 19, 2012.  I am not related to Mr. Cox.

Most of Mr. Cox’s at least 78 letters since 2004 are tinged with race, and all take leftist positions.  The most recent previous Cox letter I critiqued was “Corbett tardy in Sandusky scandal.”

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Many don’t understand all the jail time being piled upon former state Rep. Mike Veon after observing politicians campaigning for years without charges.  Was it selective prosecution for Democrats?  People have committed crimes resulting in serious bodily harm or death and gotten less time than Mike Veon received.”

[RWC] Who are the “many?”  You may recall Mr. Cox is fairly tolerant when it comes to transgressions of his political allies.

“Years ago, I was one of many who attended Veon’s Beaver Race Initiative Development Group Effort (BRIDGE).  Everything was above board.  We met at Geneva College.  The purpose, as explained by Rep. Veon was to get some semblance of ‘Liberty and Justice for All’ as outlined in President Clinton’s Race Initiative.  Veon signed on with Clinton, Tom Ridge, Prof. John Hope Franklin, John White (Geneva president) and Archbishop Anthony Bevilacqua, among others.”

[RWC] BRIDGE, like BIG (Beaver Initiative for Growth), was a scam to get votes.  This is the second time Mr. Cox mentioned BRIDGE.  In 2008 I wrote, “I don’t know the stated role of BRIDGE, but I do know it allowed Mr. Veon to hand out a bunch of t-shirts with his name on them.  I still see them on folks when I’m at the YMCA.  It’s kind of convenient how BRIDGE resulted in campaign advertising for Mr. Veon, isn’t it?”

“We expected Mike Veon to do big things in Harrisburg, and he did.  Not the least of which was bringing the Pittsburgh Symphony to Beaver Falls.  Now we have representatives who don’t seem to do anything visible to the voters.  Not that they don’t do anything... just that we, the people, can’t see any results.”

[RWC] Seriously, raiding taxpayer paychecks via a state grant so the PSO could play a concert in Beaver Falls is a “big thing” we want government to do?

“And so far as Mike Turzai’s moronic statement saying the voter ID law will guarantee Romney a Pennsylvania victory, Mike Veon would have been all over that stupidity while stopping the voter suppression law in its tracks.”

[RWC] Sure.
