Who knows Romney?; Stephen F. “The Onion” Kislock, III; Beaver County Times; October 10, 2012.

Most of Mr. Kislock’s 67+ letters over the last eight years have been Republican-bashing exercises, though he sometimes goes after Democrats for his pet causes.  Sometime during 2009 Mr. Kislock became an in-house commentator for Beaver County RedsPlease follow this link to learn more about Beaver County Reds.  You may also remember Mr. Kislock appears to believe “The Onion” is a real news source.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Ann Romney, wife of presidential candidate Mitt Romney, in an interview said her biggest concern for her husband was his mental health if elected president!  Who knows more about Mitt Romney than his wife?”

[RWC] Before I begin, let’s congratulate Mr. Kislock on the re-election of Venezula’s Hugo Chavez.  Mr. Kislock is a Chavez admirer.

Getting to his letter, Mr. Kislock is really reaching.  A KTVN interviewer asked Ann Romney “what her biggest worry is if her husband does in fact become President.”  You won’t be surprised to learn most lefties – like Mr. Kislock – who refer to Mrs. Romney’s response cherry-pick the first sentence and omit the rest.  Here’s is Mrs. Romney’s response in full:

“I think my biggest concern, obviously, would just be for his mental well-being.  I have all the confidence in the world in his ability, in his decisiveness and his leadership skills, in his understanding of the economy, in his understanding of what’s missing right now in the economy – you know, pieces that are missing to get this jump-started.  So for me I think it would just be the emotional part of it.”

Is there any good wife who would not have some worries about her husband becoming President?

“I, for one, know almost nothing about Mitt Romney’s past.  He will not talk about his taxes, his governorship of Massachusetts or the running of the Olympics.  Why?

[RWC] If Mr. Kislock “know[s] almost nothing about Mitt Romney’s past,” it’s Mr. Kislock’s (or maybe “The Onion’s”) fault, not Mr. Romney’s.  Mr. Romney’s “governorship of Massachusetts” and his rescue of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City are part of the public record.  As for his taxes, the Romneys made their 2010 and 2011 returns public.  At his request, Mr. Romney’s tax preparer (PricewaterhouseCoopers) released a summary of his 1990 through 2009 tax forms.

“Will it be Ann Romney who answers the 3 a.m. phone call for the president and tells them to call back at a decent hour?

“Go back to sleep, Mitt!”

[RWC] Letters from Mr. Kislock critical of Mr. Obama were entitled “A case of voter regret,” “Obama will get his one-term reward,” “Obama should run as a Republican,” “Gulf states are paying the piper,” “Where’s the change we were promised?”, and “Obama undercuts constitutional rights.”  Using lefty guidelines (anything not supporting Mr. Obama), these letters indicate Mr. Kislock is a racist.  That means this anti-Romney letter – Mr. Kislock’s only one so far – is simply cover. <g>

To conclude, I’d rather have Mrs. Romney answer the phone than President Obama or his wife.
