Impeach Bush ASAP; Matthew P. Maljevec; Beaver County Times; August 27, 2006.

This is at least the third letter from Mr. Maljevec with “Impeach Bush” in the title in the last 12 months.  Since September 2006, Mr. Maljevec treated us with two letters (here and here) entitled “Impeach Bush”, merely bashed President Bush in a third letter, in a fourth letter Mr. Maljevec asserted, “Rendell is one of the best governors Pennsylvania has ever had,” and in a fifth referred to Lynn Swann as a “wannabe” and to President Bush as “loser Bush.”

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“If you have not seen Tuesday’s article ‘The World According to Bush,’ article I suggest you find it and read it.”

[RWC] I couldn’t find the article either on the Times website or via a Google search.

“After you read this, I am sure you will ask yourself just what in the world is he doing.

“In the article, he blames the Democrats for all that is happening during his administration.

“What kind of a man is this who cannot and will not take the blame for his stupid decisions?  No man at all.”

[RWC] Notice Mr. Maljevec didn’t list President Bush’s “stupid decisions.”

Forgive me if I doubt Mr. Maljevec’s representation.  I’ve never heard President Bush duck responsibility for his decisions.

I get a kick out of it when a guy who employs name-calling refers to someone else as “no man at all.”

“The frightening thing about him is the remark he made that if he were running again (God forbid), he would take care of the Social Security and Medicare problem.  You and I know how he would do that and that is by an eventual elimination of these programs.”

[RWC] In case Mr. Maljevec hasn’t been paying attention, President Bush’s proposals for Socialist Security and Medicare didn’t come anywhere near proposing “an eventual elimination of these programs.”  Indeed, President Bush’s Socialist Security proposal was first put forth by Democrats in the late 1990s.

You’ll note Mr. Maljevec didn’t tell us how “he would take care of the Social Security and Medicare problem.”

“We have had six years of him and two more years of his bumbling is too much for us to bear.  Impeachment is the answer, the sooner the better for the whole world.”

[RWC] Mr. Maljevec needs a civics update.  It takes more than a charge of “bumbling” to impeach a president.  Finally, I worry about the U.S. first and “the whole world” second.  As long as our president does what’s right for the U.S., I don’t care what the rest of the world thinks.
