Send cop killer to Texas; Carol Tritinger; Beaver County Times; July 6, 2011.
Previous Tritinger letters I critiqued were “Speak up, Bush lovers,” “‘Impeach the president,’” and “What a waste of money.”
Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.
“Send cop killer Richard Poplawski to Texas.
“That state doesn’t bleed its people to death. Texas doesn’t make its people wait. Those who are convicted of murder are put to death now.”
[RWC] Not true. The average time on Texas’ death row before execution is 10.6 years; the shortest time was 252 days (He waived his appeals.) and the longest was 31 years.
“My son is a police officer. I wonder why he should try to keep people safe when no one is trying to keep our men and women safe.
“Is there something wrong with this picture? Why are we behind the times in Pennsylvania?”
