More propaganda using the Marines; Alex Yawor; Beaver County Times; February 3, 2010.

Some of Mr. Yawor’s previous letters attempted to bash then-President Bush regarding Iraq and Iran, and then-VP Cheney regarding his hunting accident.  In a July 2006 letter, Mr. Yawor implied if you supported our action in Iraq, you were “eager to send our young to die in Iraq.”  Two of Mr. Yawor’s letters tried to elevate Jimmy Carter (here and here).

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“I received another e-mail letter that asks me to open a website.

“When opened, a video comes up showing a large number of Marines.  In large letters it says, ‘Dubya meets the Marines.’  When Bush entered, the Marines applauded.

“Then, again in large letters, it says, ‘Barry meets the Marines,’ meaning Obama.  The Marines are standing at attention but not applauding.

“But wait a darn minute.  The band is playing ‘Hail to the Chief.’  How many times do I have to tell people that the military stands at attention when that song is played and does not applaud?

“In big letters, again, it says, ‘Dubya departs the Marines,’ and the Marines are applauding.  Then it says, ‘Barry departs the Marines.’  Now this is where the Republican propaganda machine can't get across that the Marines do not show respect and applaud Obama because they are applauding.  But you must look very fast because they only show that for a couple seconds and end the video.

“Shame on those who are using the Marines for their propaganda, and more shame for the ones who send it before they check what they send.”

[RWC] The only reason for the critique is to document Mr. Yawor’s incredible hypocrisy and current obsession.  This is the fourth letter from Mr. Yawor in a month and the third to complain about Obama-related e-mail (The previous two are here and here.).  Odd how we didn’t get any letters from Mr. Yawor about allegedly inaccurate e-mail about then-President Bush, isn’t it?

“shame for the ones who send it before they check what they send.”  If you’re familiar with Mr. Yawor’s letter-writing body of work, you have to get a chuckle out of this comment.
