In government, pensions rule; Matthew P. Maljevec; Beaver County Times; August 1, 2010.

Since September 2005, Mr. Maljevec treated us with three letters (here, here, and here) with “Impeach Bush” in their titles, merely bashed President Bush in a fourth letter, in a fifth letter Mr. Maljevec asserted, “Rendell is one of the best governors Pennsylvania has ever had,” in a sixth referred to Lynn Swann as a “wannabe” and to President Bush as “loser Bush,” and in a seventh sang the praises of Jimmy Carter while expressing displeasure that more politician children weren’t serving in Iraq, and I assume Afghanistan though Mr. Maljevec didn’t mention it.  Mr. Maljevec bashed Rudy Giuliani in another letter of his I critiqued.  The last Maljevec letter I critiqued was entitled “Take over the oil companies” (4/4/08).

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Pension, pension and more pension.  This is what I read and hear about.

“This pension is becoming a sickness in our society, and it must stop.

“Look at it this way. Employees of federal, state and local governments go to work, and the first order of the day is to sit down, grab the keyboard and check on their pensions.

“We pay their salary (at times in excess of their worth).

“This also includes all municipal employees.  I see if the mayor of Pittsburgh does not get his way, he said that he will raise the taxes to support the pension program.  Nuts to him.

“The people cannot afford these pension programs and should resist all threats.

“These are tough times, and those bureaucrats must be made accountable.

“In plain English, the idea of always taking and giving nothing in return must stop -now.

“These are bad times, so get off that pension butt of yours and give us a good days [sic] work.”

[RWC] The only reason for this “critique” is to note Mr. Maljevec is a lefty through and through.  Without knowing his letter-writing body of work, I suspect most readers would assume Mr. Maljevec is a “mean” conservative or Republican based on this letter.  This letter is proof even some lefties have their limit.
