No excuse for Trump supporting Roy Moore; Linda Vetterly (LV); Beaver County Times; December 10, 2017.

Previous Vetterly letters I reviewed were “It’s time to spread love, not hate,” “President should represent the people, not get them killed,” “What’s it going to take to impeach Trump?,” “Trump has done nothing to improve the country,” “Trump needs to go before it’s too late,” “Trump threatens our status throughout the world,” and “Relieving real desperation.”

Below is a review of the subject letter.

“With all of these men losing their jobs because of claims by women who worked under them of touching, groping or rape, I think it is totally disgusting that our president is defending U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore of Alabama.

“Moore has been accused of sexual misconduct with teenage girls several decades ago.  Is President Trump so afraid of a Democrat being in office?”

[RWC] According to Wikipedia (as of 1/12/2018), “During Moore’s election campaign for the Senate, a total of nine women accused Moore of inappropriate sexual or social conduct.  Three of the women said they had been sexually assaulted by Moore when they were aged 14, 16, and 28.  The other six described him pursuing a romantic relationship with them while he was in his 30s and they were as young as 16, but said there had not been any inappropriate sexual contact.  Moore denied the sexual assault allegations, but did not dispute that he had approached or dated teenagers over the age of 16 (the age of consent in Alabama).”

“Trump himself has been accused by several women of forcing unwanted contact upon them.  Does it frighten Trump that since is happening to other men, it could finally happen to him?  His own daughter has said she believes the women who have accused Moore.”

[RWC] It’s fine Miss Trump believes the Moore accusers, but there’s a reason our legal system treats the accused as innocent until proven guilty.

How many people believed the accusers in the Tawana Brawley, Duke lacrosse team, Rolling Stone, and so on fake rape stories?  How many of us didn’t believe the accusations against then-President Clinton (WJC)?  Readers may be surprised to learn I did not believe WJC did what was claimed until the blue dress.  I didn’t like WJC, but I didn’t want to believe a sitting U.S. president would have such little respect for his country, his office, and his family that he would do what he did.

“Many men in power misuse that power.  It’s disgusting how they use fear to keep women quiet.  Women are finally getting brave enough to speak out and I applaud them for that.”

[RWC] In what may be a sign of the apocalypse, I actually agree with this paragraph.  If she was alive at the time, I wonder if LV felt the same about WJC’s antics before and during his presidency.
