Lynn Coleman Gardner – 2/9/12

Stop the mudslinging; Lynn Coleman [Gardner]; Beaver County Times; February 9, 2012.  Though the letter was signed “Lynn Coleman,” I’m guessing this is the same author who signed her name “Lynn Coleman Gardner,” also of White Township, to previous letters.  If any readers know differently, please let me know.

Ms. Gardner has written at least 46 letters since 2005.  Previous letters from Ms. Gardner I critiqued are here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“In the recent months of the presidential campaigns and debates, it is absolutely disgusting, annoying and unnecessary to hear all the mudslinging that goes on.”

[RWC] Ms. Gardner didn’t seem to be concerned with “mudslinging” until March 28, 2008.  Read on and you’ll learn why if you haven’t already guessed.

“Simply state what your agenda is and quit wasting our time and your money to throw low blows at one another.

“It’s so childish, but yet you want to run this country.  Grow up and be a responsible adult deserving of the public’s respect.

“And it’s not necessary in the meantime to bash the chief and commander President Obama.  He’s doing the best he can considering all the things that have been thrown in his lap from the previous decade of presidents.”

[RWC] The first three paragraphs were window-dressing.  If you really thought Ms. Gardner was concerned about “mudslinging” in general, you now know otherwise.  This is at least the eighth letter from Ms. Coleman defending Mr. Obama since March 28, 2008.  Ms. Gardner is the same person who referred to then-President Bush as “a no account.”  I guess “mudslinging” is in the eye of the beholder.
